October at Kemah Boardwalk: A Month of Fall Fun

October is bringing a full month of fall festivities to Kemah Boardwalk! From Oktoberfest and family-friendly Halloween fun to outdoor movies, costume contests and live entertainment, there’s something happening all month long.

Whether you're planning a family day out or looking for a festive way to celebrate the season, here’s what you can look forward to this October at Kemah Boardwalk.

Kick Off October at Oktoberfest

Start the month with German-inspired fun during Oktoberfest, October 3–4! Enjoy seasonal brews, German bites, live music, dancing, games and waterfront festivities.

Test your strength in a stein-holding competition, play a round of cornhole or grab a beer and enjoy the entertainment. Guests can also dig into German-inspired favorites like bratwurst, schnitzel, sausage, giant soft pretzels and more.

Oktoberfest is free to attend, with food and drinks available for purchase.

Get Spooky at Boo on the Boardwalk

A Kemah Boardwalk Halloween tradition returns with Boo on the Boardwalk, happening every weekend in October!

Celebrating its 25th year, Boo on the Boardwalk brings plenty of Halloween fun during Freaky Fridays, Scary Saturdays and Spooky Sundays. Enjoy kids' crafts and activities, DJs, balloon artists, monster stilt walkers, live entertainment, trick-or-treating and more.

For younger guests, the Little Boo Haunted Fun House offers kid-friendly Halloween thrills. Those looking for something a little scarier can brave the Phobia Haunted House, where frightening surprises await around every corner.

Catch a Fright Night Movie

Spend Friday nights under the stars with Fright Night Movies in the Main Event Plaza. Bring your chairs and blankets and settle in for a Halloween movie with the family.

This October’s lineup includes Scooby-Doo, Hocus Pocus 2, Dark Shadows, Casper and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Make Fall Break an Adventure

Turn Fall Break into four days of fun with the Spooktacular Adventure Pass, October 9–12.

For $49.99, enjoy unlimited visits to three attractions: Kemah Boardwalk, Downtown Aquarium Houston and Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier. From thrilling rides to underwater adventures, it’s an easy way to pack more family fun into Fall Break.

Grab Your Coven for Witches Night Out

Calling all witches and wizards! Witches Night Out takes over Kemah Boardwalk on October 10 from 6–10 p.m.

Dress in your most spellbinding look and enjoy a Haunted DJ, vendor market, aerialist performances, kids' activities and special retail offers. Plus, show off your look during the Witch & Wizard Costume Contest at 8 p.m.

More Halloween Fun All Month Long

The spooky fun doesn’t stop there! Kids' Halloween Costume Contests will take place throughout October, giving guests the chance to show off their most creative costumes and compete for prizes.

On Sundays, brave guests can also take on the Boardwalk’s Freaky Food Eating Contests, featuring creepy, stinky and slimy challenges.

The festivities lead up to Halloween on October 31, with a Haunted DJ, kids' activities, a balloon artist, costume contest, live music and one final night of Halloween fun.

Celebrate Fall by the Bay
