A Spring Afternoon Worth Savoring at Kemah Boardwalk Wine Fest

April 8, 2026

Sip Sonoma, Stroll the Boardwalk, Celebrate Spring

The breeze off the bay is warm; the sun glints off the water, and the sound of laughter drifts across the boardwalk. Somewhere nearby, a wine glass catches the light as it’s raised for a toast. This is spring at Kemah Boardwalk and there’s no better way to welcome the season than at the Kemah Boardwalk Spring Wine Fest.

On Saturday, April 25, the Boardwalk transforms into a waterfront escape inspired by the vineyards of Sonoma County. For one afternoon, everyday routines fade into the background as guests wander the plaza, wine glass in hand, discovering flavors, music, and moments meant to be enjoyed slowly.

From Vineyard to Waterfront

As you step into the festival, the choices feel endless. More than 72 wines from 24 celebrated Sonoma County wineries await—from rich, full-bodied reds to crisp whites and refreshing blends. Each pour tells a story of California sunshine, rolling vineyards, and careful craftsmanship, now shared just steps from Galveston Bay.

You take a sip, pause, and let the notes linger. Around you, friends compare favorites, strangers become tasting partners, and every conversation seems to start with, “You have to try this one.”

Pairing Flavor With Flavor

Wine may be the star, but it doesn’t stand alone. Between tastings, guests follow the aromas to tasting stations offering small bites from iconic Boardwalk restaurants Landry’s Seafood, Saltgrass Steak House, Aquarium Restaurant, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Each bite is thoughtfully chosen to complement the wines, while a charcuterie tent by Seabrook Cheese Co. adds the perfect savory balance.

There’s something special about enjoying great food outdoors with the bay nearby, live music playing, and nowhere else you need to be.

Music, Moments & Memories

As the afternoon unfolds, live bands fill the plaza with energy, setting the tone for an easygoing celebration that lasts well into the evening. Guests gather near the stage, dance between sips, and capture the moment, sometimes with the help of the festival’s Glam Bot experience, which turns memories into shareworthy highlights.

For those looking to lean fully into the fun, the grape stomp offers a playful, laughoutloud break from sipping, complete with a souvenir tshirt. And early arrivals may find themselves rewarded with a little extra flair, as the first 100 guests receive a complimentary cigar from the onsite cigar roller.

Turn It Into a Day to Remember

Some guests arrive early, others stay late, and many decide not to let the experience end at all. A Wine Fest Cruise aboard the Boardwalk FantaSea offers a unique prefestival experience on the water, complete with appetizers and bay views before transitioning seamlessly into the main event. And for those wanting to linger overnight, nearby accommodations from the Boardwalk Inn make it easy to turn a great afternoon into a relaxing waterfront getaway.
