April at Kemah Boardwalk: Spring Comes Alive on the Waterfront

April 13, 2026

A Month of Festivals, Community, and Meaningful Moments by the Bay

As spring settles along the waterfront, Kemah Boardwalk shifts into one of its most vibrant seasons of the year. April brings longer days, warm breezes off the bay, and a lineup of experiences that invite you to slow down, gather together, and enjoy the moment. From inclusive community celebrations to laid‑back afternoons sipping wine and a beloved coastal tradition on the water, April is filled with reasons to visit and stay awhile.

Celebrating What Makes Us Shine: Star Celebration | April 18

April opens with a moment that feels especially meaningful at Kemah Boardwalk. The Star Celebration is an afternoon dedicated to recognizing abilities, creativity, and the many ways individuals shine—set against the open air and welcoming energy of the waterfront.

From 12:00–4:00 PM, families are invited to slow down and enjoy an experience built around connection. Music sets the tone as guests dance, play games, try hands‑on activities, and explore the Boardwalk together. Along the way, parents and caregivers can stop by the ABA Centers of Texas booth, where team members are available to share information about programs and services such as ABA therapy, autism diagnosis, and family support resources—offering guidance, insight, and conversation in a relaxed, approachable setting.

The afternoon also features the Heroes Market, where vendors from the special needs community showcase their talents, creativity, and passion. Browsing the market becomes more than shopping—it’s an opportunity to celebrate achievements, support local makers, and discover the stories behind each booth.

Surrounded by laughter, movement, and the sparkle of the bay nearby, the Star Celebration is about more than a single event. It’s about creating space, building understanding, and honoring the incredible talents that make the community brighter—together.

A Spring Afternoon Worth Savoring: Spring Wine Fest | April 25

By the final weekend of April, the pace eases and the flavors take center stage. Spring Wine Fest transforms Kemah Boardwalk into a relaxed waterfront escape inspired by the vineyards of Sonoma County.

On Saturday, April 25, guests are invited to sip and stroll while sampling more than 72 wines from 24 wineries, enjoying live music, bay views, and thoughtfully paired bites from select Boardwalk restaurants. With a souvenir wine glass in hand and plenty of space to explore at your own pace, the festival is designed for lingering conversations, discovering new favorites, and fully embracing the spirit of spring.

A Cherished Coastal Tradition: Blessing of the Fleet | April 26

April concludes with one of Kemah’s most meaningful and time‑honored events. The 58th Annual Blessing of the Fleet brings the waterfront community together to honor the maritime heritage that has shaped the area for generations.

On April 26, beautifully decorated boats begin lining up in Clear Lake around 12:30 PM, before cruising past Kemah Boardwalk between 2:00 and 3:00 PM. Families line the channel, cameras ready, as each vessel receives a blessing for a safe and prosperous season ahead. It’s a moving, reflective moment that captures the deep connection between Kemah, the water, and the people who depend on it.

Make April a Waterfront Tradition

With community celebrations, signature festivals, and beloved traditions filling the calendar, April is one of the best times to experience Kemah Boardwalk. Whether you visit for a single afternoon or plan a full weekend on the waterfront, you’ll find moments worth remembering at every turn—along with great dining, rides, entertainment, and unbeatable views of the bay.
